Throughput of Archangelsk Sea Commercial Port up 24.5% to 1.39 mln t in Jan-Sep 08

In January-September 2008, Archangelsk Sea Commercial Port OJSC handled 1.394.6 million tonnes of cargo (+24.5%, year-on-year), the port informs.

In the reported period, transshipment of export cargo amounted to 593,800 tonnes (+84%), import cargo 239,200 tonnes (+7.6%), coastal trade cargo 496,400 tonnes (-5%). Transshipment of non-sea traffic cargo increased by 22%, to 65,100 tonnes.

It is specialized in transshipment of general cargo, cellulose, cardboard, containers, timber, metal, fertilizers, heavy equipment and dry bulk cargo.
