In January-September, 2008, First Cargo Company OJSC carried 66 million tonnes of cargo including 20 million tonnes of coal, 21 million tonnes of oil cargo, 11.3 million tonnes of cement, 4.2 million tonnes of construction cargo, 5.8 million tonnes of ore, 1.1 million tonnes of ferrous metal and over 2.4 million tonnes of other cargo.
In the reported period forwarding volume amounted to 3.2 million tonnes.
First Cargo Company OJSC is the largest operator of railway transportation in Russia. The company was set up in July 2007. As of today, the company owns over 200,000 units of rolling stock which accounts for 21% of Russia’s total fleet of rolling stock. The company’s major shareholder is Russian Railways OJSC.
