Rosterminalugol coal throughput at 7 million tons
Shipment of export coal at Rosterminalugol terminal based in Ust-Luga port since early this year has reached 7 million tons as of August 29, the company said on Tuesday.
The seven-millionth ton of coal was loaded on Monday onboard the City Of Dubrovnik. In 2010, this milestone was reached only in December, the report says.
JSC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at Port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s projected annual capacity is 8 million tons of coal. Rosterminalugol specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal. The company also provides insurance services for goods and property, the risks of transactions at Ust-Luga port. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters and depth of 14 meters. The terminal can handle vessels with length of 240 m and breadth of 32.2 m. In 2010, coal exports from the terminal rose nearly 6% to 7.5 million tons.
