The Tongliao Municipal Government is joining forces with the Shenyang Railway Bureau and Yingkou Port Liability Company to build the Tongliao Container Inland Port, NewsTrak Daily reported.
The projects will cover 200,000 sq m with a total investment exceeding US$14.6 million.
The port will be operational by the end of September 2009 and will become the biggest inland port in east Inner Mongolia.
Tongliao is an important city for the connection of Northeast China, East China and Northwest China and the port project can help Tongliao become a regional logistic hub in Northeast China.
