Taiwan trade start-up boosts Port of Anqing July cargo throughput 93%
ANQING, a river port in eastern China hinterland province Anhui, posted a 93 per cent increase in throughput to 10,623 tonnes in July after it was authorised to operate direct shipping service to Taiwan, Shippingazetter reported.
Xinhua reports with the newly launched cross-strait direct shipping service, cost of transporting cargo from Anqing to Taiwan has been reduced by 30 per cent while delivery time has been reduced by 10 days. Including Anqing, mainland China now has a total of 70 ports that are offering direct shipping to Taiwan.
