The acquisition and subsequent integration of Alloin into Kuehne + Nagel's European groupage network represents a major step within the implementation of the Group's overland business strategy.
Based close to Lyon in Villefranche-sur-Saône, the Alloin Group ranks among the leading groupage providers in France with an annual turnover of approximately €300 million.
The family-owned company operates 53 cross-docking terminals across the country and handles 20,000 shipments per day.
"In the scope of our pan-European business development, the expansion of our road logistics activities in France is of the highest importance," says Xavier Urbain, Kuehne + Nagel's management board member responsible for the Road & Rail Logistics business unit. "By acquiring the Alloin Group we obtain a foothold and a strong position in this important economic area.
He added that the integration of Alloin's network into Kuehne + Nagel's existing structures will enhance its capability to provide standardised logistics services and processes throughout Europe.
The transaction is subject to the approval of EU authorities.
