Russia expects grain exports to be 23m tons in 2011-2012, official says
According to the forecasts in the 2011-2012 agricultural year exports of grain from Russia could be more than 23 million tons, First Deputy Prime Minister Victor Zubkov said Friday, speaking at the United Russia Party’s 12th Congress.
“As of October 1st, we will export 9 million tons of grain, and we should set the task to export this year (agricultural year, July 2011-June 2012) 23 million tons of grain," the United Russia Party press service quoted Mr. Zubkov as saying.
Russian Minister of Agriculture Elena Skrynnik also said today that projected volume of grain exports from Russia may total 40 million tons in 2020.
