Keppel and Sinotrans ink Yangtze port venture
Keppel Telecommunications and Transportation (Keppel T&T) has inked a deal with Sinotrans to develop and operate a port on the Yangtze River, Seatrade Asia online reports.The 50 – 50 joint venture, Wuhu Sanshan Port, will develop at port in Wuhu and has an initial investment of RMB280m.
It is Keppel T&T’s second port joint venture with Sinotrans, adding to Lanshi Port in Foshan. “Wuhu Sanshan port’s strategic location at the intersection of major industrial hubs along the lower reaches of Yangtze River will allow Keppel T&T to take another important step in our strategy to expand beyond our base in southern China,” said Pang Hee Hon, ceo of Keppel T&T.
