Environmental watchdog fines three Russian companies
The regional North-West Department of Federal Service for Supervising Natural Resources from Sep. 14 through Sept. 21 this year slapped Kirishskaya Service Company, Remstroyservis and Baltic Tanker Company with a fine of 70,000, 50,000 and 35,000 rubles, respectively.
The agency said the first two companies failed to pay on time negative environmental impact surcharge. BTC was fined for violation of the requirements for protection of water bodies, which can cause pollution, contamination and depletion.
