Maersk changes service between North Europe and the Mediterranean

Maersk Line today announced a change in the port rotation of its Scan-Med service linking North Europe and the Mediterranean, effective later this month.
In an advisory to the trade, the carrier said it is discontinuing the existing direct call at Rotterdam which was introduced in April along with Aarhus.
The weekly service currently calls Gioia Tauro, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Bremerhaven, Gothenburg, Aarhus, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Piraeus, Ambarli, Haydarpasa, Izmir and back to Gioia Tauro. The Danish carrier said the change will help improve schedule integrity and reliability on the route.
The last vessel to call Rotterdam will be the Maersk Barcelona, expected to arrive Oct. 25.
