Sembcorp Marine bags $4bn in drillship orders from Sete Brasil
Sembcorp Marine has bagged $4.03bn in drillship newbuilding contracts from Sete Brasil, Seatrade Asia online reports. The drillships to be built to Jurong Shipyard’s Jurong Espadon design are scheduled to be delivered between the second quarter of 2015 and second quarter 2019. The orders add to an earlier contract with Guarapari Drilling, a subsidiary of Sete Brasil, for a $792.5m drillship of the same design.
All six drillships will be chartered to Petrobras for 15 years, and three will be operated by Odjfell and three by Seadrill.
