Kaohsiung ox throughput up 5.8% in July
Taiwan's main Kaohsiung port improved its July container throughput both year-on-year and month-on-month, Seatrade Asia online reports.
Kaohsiung moved 849,198 teu of boxes in July, showing a 5.8% increase from 802,564 teu recorded in the same period of 2011.
Last month's throughput also grew 7.8% compared to 787,747 teu posted in June, according to figures from Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC).
In the first seven months of this year, Kaohsiung port handled a total of 5.71m teu, a slim increase from 5.59m teu seen in the corresponding period of last year.
