Ningbo port launches Ningbo-Yiwu sea-rail service
Ningbo Port Group has signed an agreement with China United International Rail Container Corp (CUIRC) to launch a sea-rail transport service between Ningbo and Yiwu, with the establishment of the Beilun branch of CUIRC, reports Logistics Week.
This service will increase convenience for companies in Yiwu, such as being able to load and unload containers, go through the declaration procedures, and arrange shipments and book container space locally. Foreign cargo arriving at Ningbo port can be transited to Yiwu by the rail service with custom clearance in Yiwu.
Ningbo Port Group's chairman Li Linghong said the Ningbo-Yiwu rail service runs one train per week and the frequency would be increased gradually.
