Hyundai Heavy Industries completes world's largest dry dock
Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. has completed the world's largest dry dock, according to Korean media reports.
The new H Dock, a graving dock measuring 490 m long by 115 m width and 13.5 m deep, is equipped with two 1,600 ton gantry cranes and is targeted at the market for floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels.
In June, HHI will start construction in the dock of the USAN FPSO--a $1.6 billion unit ordered by Elf Petroleum Nigeria Ltd.
