New PRISCO tanker sea trials finished
New PRISCO tanker sea trials have been finished successfully. The tanker was built at STX Shipbuilding in Jinhae (Republic of Korea), PRISCO press service reported to RIA PrimaMedia.
As PRISCO Shipbuilding Supervisor Viktor SAMOYLENKO said, this was the first independent voyage of the tanker with deadweight of 51000 tonnes. For three days the crew and the shipbuilders had been testing the propulsion engine, cargo system, ballasting system, fire control system, electrical system, and anchor gear. The hull and the screw had also been checked. Under actual operating conditions the tanker showed good maneuverability and speed of 14 knots, as well as its full operationability.
On April 9 the tanker will get a new name, “PRISCO Yelizaveta”, and will be sanctified according to the Orthodox custom. Then the tanker will make its first voyage.
