Navigation by Petersburg rivers and canals could start on nearest weekend depending on ice conditions, Evgeni Zubarev, President of the Association of St. Petersburg Passenger Vessels’ Owners. According to the source, opening of the navigation right now is impossible because of floating ice.
As it was reported earlier, the Association expects the fall of passenger traffic by 15-20% in 2009 due to the global financial crisis.
