Qingdao Q1 cargo throughput volume up 3.3 percent
In 2009, Qingdao Port in Shandong reached 100 million tonnes in 115 days, six days shorter than the previous year, NewsTrak Daily reported.
The cargo throughput efficiency of Qingdao Port stood at 10.10 tonnes per second. The throughput volume increase is induced by the recovery of Shandong's economy.
In the first quarter, Qingdao Port's foreign trade cargo throughput volume grew 3.3 percent and surpassed that of Shanghai Port to be the biggest in China.
Its container throughput volume rose 2.3 percent to reach the third largest in China and its overall cargo throughput volume rose 4.5 percent to be the fourth largest in the country.
