Cargo turnover of Nakhodka Commercial Seaport grew by 2%, year-on-year, amounting to 6.324 thou tons, PortNews IAA learnt from the Eastern Branch of Rosmorport FSUE. Over the reported period the company handled 5 132.7 thou tons of general cargo (+ 9.3% against year-on-year result) including 134.6 thou tons of containerized cargo (+16.7%), 4 884.3 thou tons of metal (+9.2%), 113.8 thou tons of other general cargo (-7.8%). Transshipment of timber totaled 1 115.1 thou tons (+23.1%) including transshipment of round timber - 876.3 thou tons (+25.6%), sawn materials – 238.8 thou tons (+15%). In the 11-month period the company handled 76.5 thou tons of dry bulk cargo (7.9 times less compared to January-November 2005) including a 17.5-fold decrease in transshipment of coal and coke amounting to 12.2 thou tons. Transshipment of ore totaled 64.3 thou tons (6-fold decrease against similar period of the previous year).
