One of Russia’s largest freight agencies - Volgo-Baltic Logistic - have signed an agreement with the Dutch shipping company Jumbo Shipping on the rights of an exclusive agent in Russia and CIS, the company’s press center reports.
“Cooperation of the two companies combined with the capacity of their fleets and the accumulated experience will make it possible to provide the customers with game-changing level of service when delivering oversize and heavy cargo both from and to Russia including transportation by inland waterways of the Russian Federation,” the company states.
Cooperation with Jumbo Shipping, the leader in the global market of oversize and heavy cargo, will help to increase the share of Volgo-Baltic Logistic in the market of project transportation in Russia and CIS.
Volgo-Baltic Logistic operates the fleet of 149 sea-river going vessels and large number of tugs and barges. Being an affiliated undertaking of the biggest companies in the Russian water transport system JS North Western Shipping Company and JSC Volga Shipping the company provides the complete range of transport services including organization of project and multimode transportation at inland waterways of Russia and international lines.
Jumbo Shipping owns and operates fleet specializing in transportation of oversize and heavy cargo. Thecompany’s fleet is equipped with 500 to 1,800-tonne cranes. Two of J1800 class vessels are fitted with DP2 system enabling the vessels not only to transport cargo but also to carry out of-shore works on installation of the equipment at the depth exceeding 3,000 meters. Huisman cranes installed on those vessels can lift 1,800 tonnes with boom reach of 27.5 meters.
