Throughput of port Kavkaz up 17.94% to 3.52 mln t in H1 09

In the first half of 2009, port Kavkaz handled 3.520 million tonnes of cargo (+17.94%, year-on-year), PortNews IAA learnt from the port Administration. In the reported period, transshipment of export cargo at anchorage increased by 125.76% to 1,410,061 tonnes while that at the berths fell by 4.04% to 1,750,510. 

Transshipment of import cargo fell by 33% to 358,900 tonnes, he number of vessels handled in the port increased by 6.22% to 1,093.

Throughput of Anroskrym OJSC fell by 23.67% to 792,900 tonnes including 531,590 tonnes of sulfur (+7.06%), 623,920 tonnes of heavy fuel oil (up 5.7 times), 213,350 tonnes of export grain (was not handled in 2008). Throughput of Yugneftekhimtranzit LLC fell slightly to 1.216 million tonnes.

Port Kavkaz is situated at the border of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov at Kerch Strait from the side of Russia. In 2008, the port handled 7.28 million tonnes of cargo.
