“In 2009, Russian seaports will handle some 460 million tonnes,” he said.
“In Jan-July 09, Russian seaports increased cargo handling by 5%, year-on-year. Positive dynamics was demonstrated in transshipment of crude, oil products and coal as well as grain and metal,” Parfeonov says.
He also said the steepest decline was in the sector of containerized cargo in the first half of 2009.
According to RorMorRechFlot, throughput of Russian seaports in 2008 totaled 454.6 million tonnes (+1.1%, year-on-year).
