SOCAR Marketing and Economic Operations Department exported nearly 1.229 million tons of oil via Baku-Novorossiysk in January-June 2009.
This is 76 more than the same period of 2008.
In June, a barrel of Brent crude oil brands in the world market cost $68.55, Urals –$ 68.38 and BTC FOB Ceyhan - $68.77.
In 2008, SOCAR MEOD exported nearly 1.197 million tons of crude oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk, which is 2.6% less than the volume exported in 2007. The volume of transit of SOCAR oil via this route, with capacity of over 5 million tons a year, declined as soon as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline was launched in 2006.
Nearly 32.2 million tons of oil was exported via Baku-Novorossiysk from early 1997 to late 2008, that is, since the pipeline was launched. This volume includes oil by the Azerbaijan International Operating Company which includes several foreign companies and SOCAR and SOCAR separately.
