Konstantin Palnikov has been appointed new Managing Director of North Western Shipping Company, the NWSC managing company Transport Asset Management LLC reports.
Konstantin Palnikov was born in 1966 in Perm region. Graduated from Admiral Makarov StateMaritimeAcademy in 1988 as marine engineer. In 1988-1990 - marine engineer in Latvian Shipping Company; in 1990-1996 - marine engineer t vessels owned by «AcomaritUK» and gesen SA»; in 1996-2006 - marine engineer and then chief engineer in «Stolt – Nielsen Transportation Group BV»; in 2006-2007 – technical superintendant in «Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group BV»; in May 2007 took the position of a deputy Director General of NWSC subsidiary Volga-Neva OJSC. From August 2008 – Director General of Volga-Neva OJSC.
The authority of a sole executive body of North-Western Shipping Company OJSC were delegated to Transport Asset Management LLC from July 1, 2009.
Transport Asset Management LLC is UCLH subsidiary. It was set up in 2008 for optimization of management within the holding.
UNIVERSAL CARGO LOGISTICS HOLDING BV (UCLH) is a transport holding controlling Sea Port of Saint Petersburg, Universal Transshipment Complex in Ust-Luga, commercial seaports of Taganrog and Tuapse, etc.
UCLH now plans to close the transaction on acquisition of the control stock of Volgo-Balt Transport Holding Limited controlling North-Western Shipping Company OJSC, Volga Shipping OJSC, Volga-Flot Tanker OJSC and Oka Shipyard OJSC.

Cargo transportation is carried out by 133 motor vessels including 68 vessels owned by the company and 36 chartered from Volga Shipping. The company carries 6.6 million tonnes of cargo per year.
