Fujian sea ports first half container throughput falls 10.7pc

SEA ports in southeastern Fujian province handled 3.2 million TEU during the first half of year, increasing 10.7 per cent over the same period in the prior year, Xinhua reported. 

Cumulated tonnage of cargo handled by these ports increased 14.5 per cent to 150 million tonnes.

Fuzhou port's container volume fell 10.7 per cent to 555,330 TEU while cargo tonnage surged 40.6 per cent to 42.8 million tonnes. Xiamen port's box throughput declined 14 per cent to 2.1 million TEU and cargo tonnage rose 4.5 per cent to 49.8 million tonnes.

Port of Quanzhou's cargo tonnage climbed 5.4 per cent to 37.6 million tonnes.
