Damco and Maersk appoint regional CCO

Damco and Maersk Logistics have appointed Katherine Boesen as regional chief commercial officer for its Asia Pacific operations, and she will take on the overall responsibilities of marketing as well as sales and business development in the region.
Boesen joins Damco and Maersk Logistics from Martin Bencher, where she was managing director for Singapore and Southeast Asia, responsible for business start-up and regional growth strategy. The regional CCO position is a new role at the company and Boesen will be based in Singapore, reporting directly to Tony Hotine, CEO for Asia Pacific.
"It's a great opportunity to be part of a growing global organization which offers a full spectrum of supply chain services and consultancy. Client satisfaction and operational performance will be foremost on our minds as we move through 2009 - which is why Damco and Maersk Logistics will continue to grow and improve its standing in the marketplace," Boesen said in a statement.
"Now, more than ever, customers are looking for efficiencies in every initiative, confirming that opportunities for profitable growth still exist, despite the economic conditions. The key ingredients will be increased empathy to customers' needs, delivering on promises, and leading edge solutions."
