Passenger ship Gleb Krzhizhanovsky of project PV18 takes to Caspian Sea (photo)

On June 2, 2014, the Gleb Krzhizhanovsky, passenger ship of mixed (sea and river) navigation, took to the Caspian Sea. The 350-passenger vessel classified by Russian River Register as О-ПР2.0(ice30)А was converted into project PV18 from project 302 according to the design of Marine Engineering Bureau.

The ship owned by Moscow River Shipping Company OJSC is to be used as a floating hotel for the those working at the oil and gas condensate field named after V.Filanovsky.
  
The conversion has been implemented in Astrakhan.
   
There are 175 cabins, a dining hall, a gym, two recreational rooms and two offices.
  
The vessel meets improved standards of environmental safety. 

The Filanovsky oil and gas condensate field was discovered in 2005. It is located in the Northern part of the Caspian Sea, 170 km from Astrakhan. The sea is 7 to 11 meters deep there. Experts estimate its reserves at 220 mln t of oil and 40 bln cbm of gas. The production volumes are to make 8 mln t of oil.
