Capacity of Vanino port berths to be increased to 1 mln t per year (photo)

Reconstruction of berths No 5 and No 6 has been planned at port Vanino within the framework of the special-purpose programme “Development of Russia’s Transport System in 2010-2015”. The reconstruction of the berths owned by FSUE Rosmorport will be financed by the federal budget and partly by the port, says the press center of Vanino Commercial Sea Port OJSC.

According to the project, the capacity of berths No 5 and No 6 will be increased to 1 mln t of cargo per year. The berths will be able to handle vessels with length of 185.5 m, draught of up to 10.1 m and deadweight of up to 25,000 t. 

Vanino Commercial Sea Port OJSC is the largest stevedoring company of Khabarovsk region. It provides handling and forwarding services. Cargo is delivered via Vanino to the north-eastern regions of Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, USA and other countries of APR. The length of the port’s berthing line is about 2.5 kilometers. The berths occupied by three industrial complexes are equipped in compliance with their specialization. In 2013, Port Vanino OJSC handled 7.1 mln t of cargo (+32%, year-on-year). The company’s RAS net profit surged 2.26 times to RUB 336.13 mln.
