Throughput of Aktau ISCP (Kazakhstan) up 12.3% to 4.66 mln t in Jan-May’14

In January-May 2014, Aktau International Sea Commercial Port (Kazakhstan) handled over 4,669,000 to of cargo (+12.3%, year-on-year), the company says in its press release.

Transshipment of crude and oil products totaled 2,842,000 t, dry cargo – 1,827,000 t including 457,000 t of metal products, 189,000 t of other cargoes, 384,000 t of grain. The volume of cargo carried by ferries reached 797,000 t.

From the beginning of 2014, 744 vessels called at the port.

In May, the company handled 929,000 t of cargo including 510,000 t of crude and oil products; 102,000 t of metal products; 187,000 t of cargo carried by ferries; 82,000 t of graion and 48,000 t of other cargoes; The number of calls - 154.

The Republican State Enterprise "Aktau International Sea Commercial Port" operates in the port of Aktau situated on the eastern coast of the Caspian sea, the only sea port of the Republic of Kazakhstan aimed for international shipping of different dry cargos, crude oil and oil products. In 2013, the company handled 10.08 mln t of cargo.
