The International Ust-Luga Cup Regatta awards ceremony was held yesterday, June 11, in St. Petersburg at the walls of the Peter and Paul Fortress, the PortNews correspondent reports.
The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ust-Luga Company Valery Izrailyt, head of RZD's branch Octyabrskaya Railway Victor Stepov, the senator, representing St. Petersburg in the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly Vadim Tulpanov, Executive Director of independent noncommercial organization "Baltic Regatta Ust-Luga Cup» Aleksandr Aliev and others.
The Ust-Luga Cup Regatta trophies were awarded to three winners: Team Ust-Luga Company was awarded the gold medal, Team RZD - the silver medal, and the bronze medal went to Team Rosterminalugol.
Presenting the challenge cup to the regatta winner the Federation Council member Vadim Tulpanov noted that the Ust-Luga Cup Regatta has become a good tradition and a great holiday for St. Petersburg. He said he enjoyed participating in the races as a crew member of Team Ust-Luga Co. “I had handed over a lot of trophies, but this cup is the first one, which is partly owned by me," Tulpanov said.
Awarding the Regatta bronze medal to third place winner – Team Rosterminalugol, Ust-Luga Terminal Operations Director Arthur Sedov said that the Team has now all the trophies of the Cup: a gold medal in the 2012 regatta and a silver one in 2013). "Now we will be fighting only for the first place," he said.
The overall results on all legs of the regatta races are as follows: Team SMM - the fourth position, Team TransContainer - the fifth position, Team RS & RRR (Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and Russian River Register) took the sixth position, followed by Team Anker Logistic Ltd. Team Morstroytechnology LLC - the eighth position, Team Murmansk Commercial Sea Port - in ninth, and Team Trading House Rustorg bringing up the rear in tenth place.
Rosterminalugol OJSC (Leningrad Region) has been Ust-Luga Cup General Partner for two years in a row.

The Ust-Luga Cup Regatta is held under the auspices of Russia's Transport Ministry and Russian Sailing Federation.
The first Baltic Regatta Ust-Luga Cup was held in June, 2012 and was dedicated to the 10th anniversary of sea port of Ust-Luga. The successful regatta has become a significant event not only for the international sailing world, but for the business and media community as well. Following the regatta success and thanks to the great interest to further development of the project both in Russia and abroad, it was decided to hold the Ust-Luga Cup regatta annually.
Ust-Luga Cup 2014 was held between June 1 and June 11, 2014. The regatta boats were competing on the following legs: from Stockholm, Sweden to Saint-Petersburg, Russia via Finland's Mariehamn and Tallinn, Estonia. The participants and the guests moored in beautiful places at picturesque islands of Sweden and Finland, enjoyed a bright final show with a parade of sails at the Neva river and attended the awards ceremony at the walls of the Peter and Paul Fortress.
