Zavod Gidromekhanizatsii CJSC (Gidromeh company, Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region) has won the tender to build a high-performance dredger for the Border Service of Russia’s Federal Security Service. As IAA PortNews was told at the company, it will build a marine diesel cutter-suction dredger Gidromeh 4000 Dm.
Gidromeh 4000 series is a new generation dredgers with total power exceeding 1.6 MW which replace Gidromeh-3800, successor of well known soviet project 350/50.
It will be the third dredger in the series.
The dredger is equipped with all modern dredging devices.
At the customer's request the vessel will have a daytime accommodation unit for the crew, living quarters, as well as pod drives for positioning at the operation site.
Zavod Gidromekhanizatsii CJSC specializes in production and designing of dredgers in Russia. It is a vertically integrated shipbuilding company including smelting, ship-assembly and machining shops. It produces dredgers with the production capacity of 100 to 8,000 cbm of material and dredging depth of up to 35 m. Established in 1950, the company produced over 1,250 dredgers of different types. From 2012, Zavod Gidromekhanizatsii in cooperation with Conoship B.V. (Netherlands) has been designing and building TSHD as well as fitting them with equipment and specific software.
