Bunker market of diesel fuel in the North and Baltic sea region will grow by 10 mln t to 13.5 mln t after introduction of new requirements for sulphur content in ship fuel (0.1%) from January 1, 2015, IAA PortNews journalist cites Anatoly Belov, Manging Director General of AS Bominflot Estonia as saying at the VII All Russian Forum “Current State and Prospects for Development of Russian Bunker Services Market” which opened on June 19 2014 in Saint-Petersburg.
According to him, this will be enough for consumption as diesel fuel deficit in Europe is covered by the proficit in CIS countries and USA.
Besides, the expert thinks that with a target to reduce the fuel costs blending will become more attractive as well as the use of biofuel, petrochemicals etc.
