For the second year running, EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg has been honoured as “Best Container Terminal Europe 2015” with the Asian Freight, Logistics & Supply Chain Award (in short: AFLAS), the company said in its press release. Conferred annually, the Award was presented this year for the 29th time at a gala dinner in Hong Kong. The Award is organised by the newspaper “Asia Cargo News”, which counts Asian importers and exporters among its core readers. With a majority of votes, these readers rated EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg “Best Container Terminal Europe 2015”. As in the previous year, the rating was based on such criteria as variety of product range, container handling rates per dock crane, efficient turnaround of trucks, timely and adequate investment in new terminal structure to meet future demands and effective IT systems.
Despite the nautical access conditions, EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg has the capacity to handle today’s mega carriers and is a driver of growth at the Port of Hamburg. Peter Zielinski, Managing Director of the container terminal in Hamburg, personally accepted the award in Hong Kong yesterday evening and on behalf of all colleagues and staff thanked the customers in Asia for their positive recognition.
Emanuel Schiffer, Chairman of the EUROGATE Group Management Board, says: “I am extraordinarily grateful to our customers for this repeat award and to our staff for their commitment, without which we would not have received this renewed recognition. Just as last year, the award should serve as an incentive to uphold our group-wide service claim and further develop our quality characteristics in order to set ourselves apart from the competition moving forward. I congratulate EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg on this success.”
