Russian Railways' network loading up 1.3% to 498.2 mln t in Jan-May'16
In January-May 2016, the network of Russian Railways loaded 498.2 mln t, up 1.3%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.
In the reported period the railways shipped the following goods:
coal – 136.5 mln t (+3.9%, year-on-year); coke – 4.6 mln t (-0.6%); crude and oil products – 97.8 mln t (-8.5%); iron and manganese ores – 45.7 mln t (+0.8%); ferrous metal – 29.9 mln t (-2.1%); ferrous metal scrap– 5.2 mln t (-10.3%); chemical and mineral fertilisers – 22.2 mln t (+4.1%); cement – 9.7 mln t (-6.8%); timber – 18.3 mln t (+6.9%); grain – 7.6 mln t (+12%); construction material –55 mln t (+21.3%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 8.6 mln t (+3.8%); chemicals and soda – 10.7 mln t (+1.9%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 12.7 mln t (-5.7%).
From the year beginning freight turnover totaled 951.6 billion tariff ton-km (+3.1%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs was – 1,220.4 billion ton-km (+1.1%).
In May 2016, loading totaled 102.9 mln t (+3.1%, year-on-year), freight turnover increased by 3% to 195.5 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs climbed by 2.4% to 249.5 billion ton-km.
