Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports up 14.6% to 10.03 mln t in January 2017

In January 2017, seaports of Ukraine handled 10.03 mln t of cargo (+14.6%), says preliminary statistics of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 8.094 mln t (+30.3%, year-on-year), imports – 1.423 mln t (-9%), transit – 475,000 t (-50%), inland traffic - 39,300 t.

State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 1.825 mln t (18.2% of total volume). Other port operators (mostly private operators) handled 8.206 mln t (81.8% of total volume) including 4.170 mln t handled via USPA berths (41.6% of total volume)..

Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine totaled 48,911 TEUs (+30.5%, year-on-year).

Throughput of port Oktyabr’sk almost doubled (+ 86.6%), throughput of Kherson grew by 33.1%, Yuzhny – by 20.9%, Odessa – by 20.4%, -Illichivsk Ильичевск – by 16.3%, Nikolayev – by 14.8%.
