Water level forecast in the Volga-Don and Azov-Don basins was announced by Natalia Petrova, Head of the Volgograd Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (CGMS), at the Extended Joint Meeting of the Public Councils of the Volga-Don and Azov-Don basins (Volgograd, March 22, 2017), says the regional correspondent of IAA PortNews.
"As of March 20, the spring high water is still observed on the rivers of the Volga and Don basins”, she said.
Spring floods on the Lower Volga will begin in April with an increase in water discharges through the hydraulic system of Volgograd. The forecast of maximum water levels on the Lower Volga will be issued after the approval of the discharge schedules, said Natalia Petrova.
