In January-March 2017, Multipurpose Reloading Complex LLC (MRC, part of UCL Holding) operating at the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) says it handled 1.28 mln t of export power coal, which is a 30-pct increase, year-on-year.
According to the statement, the positive dynamics should be attributed to growing exports to the company’s key clients amid favorable market situation.
“MRC has coped with the growing cargo flow thanks to intensified handling of open-top wagons and general improvement of performance through implementation of the development programme providing for renovation of equipment and acquisition of the new one”, says the statement.
In the reporting period, average daily handling of wagons at the terminal grew by 33%, year-on-year, to 203 units, with maximum handling as high as 305 open-top wagons per day.
In January-March, MRC handled 18,285 open-top wagons and 35 vessels.
