Unifeeder launched a new weekly feeder service from the Port of Gdansk

The Unifeeder A/S shipping company launched a new weekly feeder service from the Port of Gdansk, says PGA. The shipowner's vessels will call at Gdansk once a week, and from there, they will continue their journey to Saint Petersburg, Russia and Kotka, Finland.

The new connection enables transport of cargo and access to all the shipowner's containers - 20', 40', 40'HCPW, and 45'HCPW - which are an integral part of Unifeeder's shortsea offer. The combination of sea transport and road, and/or railway transport will make it possible to provide customers with fully multimodal and flexible door to door deliveries.

The new connection from Gdansk is an alternative to road transport for all customers looking for modern solutions. It not only ensures more attractive transport of goods in terms of costs, but also constitutes a more environmentally friendly logistics solution.

The new offer is intended to provide efficient transit of feeder cargo from/to Kotka and Saint Petersburg. It will also make it possible to reposition empty containers from Poland to Russia and Finland.

Moreover, it is an alternative for Finland and Russia in terms of container shipment via the Port of Gdansk, compared to solutions offered by ports such as Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Rotterdam and Antwerp. The new connection is yet another step towards enhancing Gdansk's distribution functions in the Baltic Sea and increasing loading opportunities for containerised cargo.
