Throughput of Russian ports in 2017 will be close to 800 mln t, IAA PortNews cites RF Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov as saying at the meeting of the Board and the Public Council of Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency).
The Minister marked improvements in financing of inland water ways, debottlenecking and renovation of sea and river fleet.
Meanwhile, the Minister says it is necessary to improve labour productivity and ensure water transport safety.
According to Aleksei Petrov, head of Rosmorrechflot’s Investment Management Department, who attended the meeting, the capacity of port facilities is expected to grow by 27.5 mln t, primarily with the development of terminals in Murmansk, Pevek, Magadan, Taman and Vostochny Port (Phase 3).
By 2020, throughput of Russian seaports is expected to grow up to 828 mln t.
