Zvyozdochka takes delivery of two new tugboats built by the shipyard’s subsidiary (photo)
Shiprepairing Center Zvyozdochka (part of United Shipbuilding Corporation) says that it has taken the delivery of two tugboats of Project 05Ту, Bui and Baken, from its subsidiary, Krasnaya Kuznitsa shipyard.
The design of a small size tugboat was developed by Krasnaya Kuznitsa specialists.
Tugboats of Project 05Ту are intended for towing and turning operations in limited space of shipyards, ports and rivers.
With their high maneuverability, small size tugboats are perfect for docking of vessels and moving floating facilities in water areas.
The new ships will replace the Volkhov and Malakhit tugboats in Severodvinsk. They will be operated by Shiprepairing Center Zvyozdochka.
Krasnaya Kuznitsa was founded by Peter the Great back in 1693. The company was engaged in ship repair of sea-going, river and fishing vessels and technical ships with a displacement of up to 13,500 tons. Besides, the plant constructed vessels of 1,000t displacement (unloaded), produced steelworks for bridges and manufactures machines. The shipyard’s waterfront is 1,100 meters. The enterprise had two floating docks of lifting capacity of 5,000 and 9,600 tons (accordingly).
Severodvinsk, Russia based Ship Repair Centre ‘Zvezdochka’ is a diversified shipbuilding enterprise. The shipyard has two covered slipways, 7 shipbuilding yards, specializing in repair and construction of vessels with a launching weight of up to 18,000 tonnes. The firm is majority owned by Northern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Centre, part of JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation.
