RF Navy's destroyer Admiral Pantileyev holds drills with Cambodian Navy
On 12 November, the Pacific Fleet’s ship detachment made up of the destroyer Admiral Panteleyev and large sea tanker Boris Butoma completed an unofficial visit to the Cambodian port of Kampongaon, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
During the visit, the command of the Russian ship detachment visited the Governor of the Preah Sihanoukville Province, the Mayor of the city of Sihanoukville, and the Commander of the naval base of Ream.
The servicemen of anti-terror units of the two countries shared their experience in countering terrorism and practised skills in a joint anti-piracy drills.
The sailors of Russia and Cambodia held football and volleyball matches.
During the visit, the Russian destroyer was opened for local residents and military personnel of the Cambodian Armed Forces. And the Pacific Fleet seamen were invited to take bus tours round the regional historical sites.
After the Russian unit left the port of Kampongaon, the ships of the Pacific Fleet and the Cambodian Navy held a joint exercise aimed to improve their interaction at sea.
