Port Sabetta is Russia’s leading port in terms of throughput growth in 10M’17
Port Sabetta (Yamal peninsula) is Russia’s leading port in terms of throughput growth in the 10-month period of 2017. According to Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot), the port’s throughput grew by 298% (from 2.005 mln t to 5.991 mln t).
The list of top five ports also includes the Arctic Basin ports of Kandalaksha and Murmansk as well as Sakhalin ports – Nevelsk and Shakhtersk.
The port of Kandalaksha (Murmansk region) handled 1.302 mln t (+218%, year-on-year), the port of Nevelsk (Sakhalin) 1.551 mln t (+186.1%), Shakhtersk – 5.758 mln t (+162.2%), Murmansk – 42.59 mln t (+160.1%).
In January-October 2017, all seaports of Russia handled 649.5 mln t of cargo (up 9.3%, year-on-year).
