RF Government approves expansion of port Vladivostok for construction of coal terminal (document)
RF Government has approved the expansion of Vladivostok seaport for implementation of an new investment project and development of the port’s existing infrastructure (Decree No 2450-р dated 4 October 2017). There is a plan to build a coal transshipment terminal near Otkrytyi Cape and Bezzashchitnaya Bay. The terminal’s design capacity – up to 20 mln t of coal per year. The Decree is available at the official website of RF Government.
The terminal is to have two berths for coal loading, a connecting pier and a port fleet berth. The project investors are Port “Vera”LLC and VostokCoal Management Company LLC. The construction will also be funded by loans raised with no budget financing foreseen.
The investment project also implies the construction of transport infrastructure including highways and railways (140 km from the coal field to the connecting station.
By the Government Decree dated 28 August 2017 (No 1842-р) this investment project was included into the list of projects planned for implementation in the Far East region of Russia (approved by RF Government on 23 March 2015, No 484-р).
According to the statement, the decision will contribute to the development of the seaport of Vladivostok, construction of new transshipment facilities and generation of new jobs.
