Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company expands its activities in foreign waters
Another vessel of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company was engaged in operation in foreign waters. Henceforth the "Gafur Mammadov" dry cargo vessel, which belongs to the Shipping company will be attracted to cargo transportation operations outside the Caspian Sea. Thus, the number of vessels of the Shipping Company, operating outside the Caspian Sea, has reached 12, 11 of them are dry cargo vessels, and 1- is a tanker, says ACSC.
The vessel "Gafur Mammadov" moored in port of Taganrog, Russian Federation for carrying out cargo operations. From the port of Taganrog the ship will move to Izmir, Turkey.
Control over the operation, as well as maintenance service of the dry cargo vessel, which will float in the basins of the Azov, Black and Mediterranean Seas, will be provided by the "Caspdry" company of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, located in Turkey.
The “Gafur Mammadov” vessel with a deadweight of 5,500 tons, a length of 108.3 m., a width of 16.5 m., and a full-load draft of 4.79 m., will contribute to the further strengthening of the position of the Shipping Company in the market of cargo transportation abroad.
The activity of the Shipping Company in foreign waters after a long break had been restored in 2004 with the purchase of the "Uzeyir Hajibeyli" and "Natavan" vessels on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev, which is of great importance in terms inflow of foreign currency to the country and development of the Shipping company as a whole.
