Port of Gdansk throughput up 3% to 32 mln t in Jan-Oct'17
In January-October 2017, Port of Gdansk (Poland) handled 32,055,465 t of cargo (+3%, year-on-year), the stevedoring company says.
Transshipment of grain totaled 704,802 t, general cargo and timber – 14,372,586 t, other bulk cargo (aggregates, sulphur, ore) – 2,937,746 t, coal – 3,940,225 t, liquid fuel – 10,100,106 t.
The port of Gdansk is a major international transportation hub situated in the central part of the southern Baltic coast. Besides handling bulk cargoes (oil, coal, metal, ores) the port provides a number of line services linking it with the ports of the Baltic Sea and Western Europe (primarily ferry, construction and ro-ro lines). In 2016, the port handled 37,288,969 t of cargo.
