ABP shortlisted for two Humber Renewables Awards
ABP says it has recently been shortlisted for two awards for the Humber Renewables Awards 2018.
The awards, which will take place at The Hallmark Hotel, North Ferriby on Friday 11th May, will see industry leaders from the renewable sector come together to share and celebrate their successes.
The first category which has seen ABP being shortlisted is for The Best Renewables Project or Installation in the Humber Area.
ABP recently launched plans to become one of the biggest corporate solar power producers in the UK.
Due to go live in this month, 23,000 m2 of solar panels are currently being installed on multiple warehouses at Immingham, Britain’s largest port by tonnage.
Once fully online, the panels will generate a total of 4.5MW electricity, enough to boil 22,500 kettles, which could make cups of tea for every resident in Goole and the surrounding areas.
The second category which has named ABP on its shortlist is for Women in Manufacturing and Engineering. ABP’s Head of the Humber International Terminal, Sarah West was put forward for the award, after proving her dedicated leadership whilst overseeing the launch of the UK’s largest biomass handling facility, Immingham Renewable Fuels Terminal.
Simon Bird, Regional Director for ABP Humber said: “I’m extremely proud that the Humber Renewable Awards have recognised ABP’s efforts in the renewable sector. We’re constantly striving to improve our methods of working to ensure we’re able to become more environmentally-friendly and these awards go some way to recognising our dedication.” He continued: “I’m delighted for Sarah and really do hope for the best result on the awards evening.”
