Jotun looks into expansion of ship coatings production in Russia
Jotun, Norwegian manufacturer of a wide range of Protective, Marine and Powder coatings, has ambitious plans in Russia, PortNews and specialists of Shipboard Equipment Localization Center of CNII Kurs learned at the company’s headquarters in Norway.
“The plant capacity is as of now sufficient to cover our current market demand in Russia. However, we believe in continued growth, and will in that respect continuously consider required investments. Jotun have ambitious plans in Russia. With our new factory we continuously strengthen our project portfolio with high-quality locally produced coatings”, said the company.
Jotun plant is located in the Tosno District of the Leningrad Region, near Annolovo. The first factory in Russia is a highly advanced production facility for paints and coatings started its production on May 21st, 2017. From the beginning of 2018 it is a confirmed Local Manufacturer in accordance with Ministry of Industry and Trade requirements for import substitution. Jotun’s domestic Marine business accounts for 20% of its sales volume and is supplied to shipyards all around and across the geography of Russia.
