Saint-Petersburg Government provides Petrolesport with plots of land on Volny and Damba Grebyonka islands
Saint-Petersburg Government has provided Petrolesport with plots of land on the Volny and Damba Grebyonka island according to the decisions published by the municipal administration. The decision was made under the strategic project on the development of the stevedoring company’s transshipment facilities. According to the investment agreement, the company should complete the construction of facilities on provided plots of land within 36 months.
The modernization programme is included into the federal targeted programme “Development of Russia’s Transport System (2010-2020)”. The project foresees the construction of a cargo terminal and expansion of Petrolesport’s existing facilities. Investments into the project are to exceed RUB 4 billion. With the project completion, the port’s capacity will increase by 40%. It will generate more than 200 new jobs.
Acting Governor of Saint-Petersburg Aleksandr Beglov has emphasized the necessity to obtain the approval of the Kirovsky District Administration for placing motor transport near in the area of the port.
Petrolesport, JSC operates of the largest container terminal of Russia. In 2018, by RF Government Decree, the project was given the status of a strategic investment project of Saint-Petersburg, while Petrolesport obtained a status of a strategic investor of Saint-Petersburg.
