ABP says it has made two donations of a total of £7500 to local marine charities on the Humber.
The first donation of £2,500 was to the Hornsea Inshore Rescue for their 25th anniversary. ABP Humber decided to give £100 per year the charity has been running. The money goes towards the valuable work Hornsea Inshore Rescue does in providing a life-saving inshore rescue service and education on how to stay safe whilst at sea.
The second donation of £5000 was to Grimsby & Cleethorpes Sea Cadets. The cheque was presented by Phil Christy, Grimsby and Immingham Dock Master on behalf of ABP Humber. The money will go towards giving young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be, in a safe and friendly environment. Grimsby & Cleethorpes Sea Cadets offer a range of different activities from sailing, windsurfing and powerboating.
Simon Bird, Director of ABP Humber, said ‘Our local communities and the wider maritime community are very important to ABP, the Sea Cadets and Hornsea Inshore Rescue are fantastic organisations which we are delighted to support.
