Onezhsky Shipyard launches TSHD Yury Maslyukov of Damen design
On 23 August 2019, Onezhsky Shipbuilding, Ship Repair Yard (Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia) has held a ceremonial launching of TSHD Yury Maslyukov designed by Damen, FSUE Rosmorport says in a press release.
The ceremony was attended by Sergey Vakhrukov, Deputy Secretary of Russia's Security Council; Artur Parfenchikov, head of the Republic of Karelia; Vasily Strugov, Deputy General Director of FSUE Rosmorport for Fleet; Gleb Turichinm Rector of Saint-Petersburg State Technical University; Vladimir Maizus, Onezhsky Shipyard Director, and other officials.
According to the statement, the ship of TSHD-2000 design is a state-of-the-art product combining recent technological solutions and experience of accumulated while operating earlier built ships of TSHD-2000 design (hold capacity – 2,000 cbm), TSHD Severnaya Dvina and TSHD Beloye Morye, and three ships of TSHD-1000 design (hold capacity – 1,000 cbm).
TSHD Yury Maslyukov is intended for Arkhangelsk Branch of FSUE Rosmorport. The company is going to use the ship for maintenance of depth required for navigation in the water area and approaches to the seaport of Arkhangelsk and at the seaport of Kaliningrad.
The ship was laid down on 17 November 2017. The launching will be followed by the outfitting works, start-up and adjustment works, mooring and sea trials.
Vessel particulars: LOA – 84.8 m, molded length - 76.3 m, breadth – 16.2 m, draft during dredging – 5.1 m, maximum depth of dredging - 22 m, hold capacity – 2,000 cbm.
Onezhsky Shipbuilding, Ship Repair Yard (Onezhsky Shipyard) was founded in 2002 on the basis of ship repair facilities of the Belomorsky-Onezhsky Shipping Company, formed in 1944. In 2011, after the enterprise management dismissal the shipyard production was suspended and was followed by the firm’s bankruptcy procedure. In late 2014 the enterprise was transferred to the state ownership with FSUE Rosmorport as the yard Founder and resumed its shipbuilding and ship repair business.
