Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association (ASPA, United Shipbuilding Corporation) has launched a non-self-propelled pontoon of Project GRPN ordered by Mashpromlizing, the leasing company says in a press release.
The ceremony was attended by Gennady Goodin, representative of Mashpromlizing (Director of the Department for leasing of sea (river) ships and real estate), and Nikolay Sochin, General Director of Shipping Company “ARK”.
The non-self-propelled pontoon of Project GRPN is intended for transportation of mixed cargo on the deck providing a possibility of horizontal loading/unloading.
According to the statement, it is the tenth pontoon built for Shipping Company “ARK” under a leasing contract involving Mashpromlizing, the leasing company, and shipbuilding plant “Lotos”.
Key characteristics: LOA – 85.5 m, BOA – 16.5 m, depth – 4.5 m, unloaded displacement – 990.0 tonnes, load line displacement – 4,201 tonnes.
OOO Shipping Company “ARK” is a large Russian business in the segment of river and sea shipping. The company has been operating successfully in the market of transport and logistic services from 1992. The company’s key cargo transportation routes are in the basins of the Neva, Volga, Oka and Don rivers as well as in the Caspian, Black and Azov seas, the Gulf of Finland and the seas of the Arctic Ocean.
Shipbuilding Plant "Lotos", one of the largest companies of the Astrakhan Region and the Southern region of Russia, has been involved in shipbuilding from 1990. The shipyard’s facilities can accommodate vessels of up to 6,000 tonnes and up to 140 meters. Lotos is experienced in construction non-self-propelled barges and pontoons for shipping companies operating in the Volga-Caspian Basin. The shipyard has qualified staff and great technical capabilities, has certificates of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, Russian River Register, GL, Rostechnadzor. Lotos shipyard is an anchor resident of the special economic zone “Lotus”.
